Crazy ol' Uncle Jeremiah Wright is back from the dead -- again!

Bill O'Reilly has a bit of Dracula news this morning. Crazy ol' Uncle Jeremiah Wright is back from the dead and has two of his best crazy-as-a-bedbug buddies with him for a big "event."

Stay with me, because you are not going to believe this column. This month in Chicago, an event will honor three men as "living legends." The men are Minister Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of Barack Obama's church, and Father Michael Pfleger, a radical-left Catholic priest. The men will stand together, and thousands of spectators will pay to see them.

The press release announcing the program says, "Because of their legacy of educating, they are being honored as Living Legends for their unfailing work and dedication."

And who, exactly, selected the three men as honorees? Um, well, that would be the Rev. Jeremiah Wright!

That's right, the good reverend is honoring himself and his bomb-throwing pals -- and charging up to $100 for a ticket. Who gets the proceeds? Again, that would be Wright. His school and day-care center will divvy up most of the dollars. Pfleger's parish and Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti charity will also get some cash, according to the release.

There are many interesting things about this exposition. First, it has received almost no media coverage, even though Farrakhan, speaking before a crowd of 20,000 a few days ago, accused the "white right" of planning the assassination of President Obama. The minister, wearing a Muammar Gaddafi-style hat, went on to say that the "Zionists" were derailing the president's agenda and white Christians were praying for Obama's death. Sounds like the stuff of "living legends," doesn't it?

Even I lived across the street from this "big event" in Chicago, I wouldn't be going to hear whatever foolishness these three idiots will be spewing, much less put money in their pockets. And call me wild and crazy, but I'll make a bet at least one other Chicago resident will not be there: the former community organizer who's currently living rent-free in the White House.

The Decline and Fall of America the Beautiful

I've been thinking about the decline and fall of America the Beautiful lately and the parallel with the decline and fall of the nation of Israel. The Old Testament comes to a close with the unheeded warnings of the "minor prophets" to the 10 tribes of the northern Kingdom of Israel and the two tribes of the southern Kingdom of Judah. All these minor prophets preached their downfall was near for turning away from God. Neither kingdom listened and both fell. First the Northern Kingdom by the invasion of the Assyrians, then about 150 years later the Southern Kingdom by Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians. And there was never again a true king on the throne for either kingdom of Israel. Though Nehemiah and a few captives from the Southern Kingdom returned when they were set free by the Persian King Cyrus, the temple and the city of Jerusalem was rebuilt but the kingdom was not restored. First came the conquering Greeks, followed by the conquering Romans. By the time of Jesus, the so-called King of Israel was Herod, not even a Jew, but a puppet king put in place by the Romans, who held the nation in slavery.

Fast forward to our time. A presidential candidate's preacher is revealed to be a race-baiting, white-hating, frothing-at-the-mouth, wild-eyed lunatic. And the candidate chose this particular church when he moved to Chicago to establish his family and start his political career and stayed in that church, listening to that hate-monger's preaching for 20+ years.

In an earlier generation, the widespread videos of that lunatic's so-called Christian messages would have evoked such outrage that any candidate associated with him would be rejected out of hand. But this candidate makes a speech that does not repudiate the preacher, but his own white grandmother, calling her a racist rather than his preacher. And the speech is proclaimed the greatest statement on racial reconciliation in the history of the republic.

Only when the race-baiting preacher brings his message to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., does the candidate finally repudiate him publicly. Apparently the preacher was fine as long as he stayed in Chicago. And the candidate gets elected as our President.

And everybody forgets about the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. No outrage. Just voter apathy. I assert that the kingdom of America, the home of the brave and the land of free, is close to its end. We have forgotten God, elected as our leader a man whose vision of God is some sort of multi-cultural, half Islam, half this or that so far from the God of the Bible that He is unrecognizable.

And the same thing that happened to the kingdom of Israel will happen to the kingdom of America, or God is not the God of the Bible, who hates sin as much as He loves sinners who repent.

Team Sarah asks: 'Who is Barack Obama Winking At?'

Team Sarah has launched a new TV ad about Barack Obama.

Not-rev. Jeremiah Wright & Other Anti-Semites for Obama

He's baaaaaaaaaack, just in time for Halloween. And guess who Crazy Uncle Jeremiah's ranting about this time? Who needs a Palestinian video of Obama? Here's his pastor of 20 years, ranting about Israel and Jews. Just one more example of his racist bile vs. whites, Jews, America...

And here's another Anti-Jewish video featuring Muslim Khalid al-Mansour, who helped Obama get into Harvard. (The anti-semitism is 1:08 into the video).

And for the hat trick, here's "Minister Louis Farrakhan" as Obama always refers to this famous Jew-hating racist. Minister of what? Hatred? Racism?

Townhall voter to McCain: “I’m mad! I’m really mad!”

Here's John McCain today, back in his favorite setting, a town hall meeting with the public.

McCain promises to attack ACORN and Wright

Campaigning in Wisconsin today, John McCain and Sarah Palin again took issue with Barack Obama's association with Bill Ayers, former Weather Underground terrorist. But a black man supporting McCain urged him to also challenge Obama about his former pastor, the not-very-rev. Jeremiah Wright, and about his ties to ACORN, the national voting registation group under investigation in several states.

The next question came from a black McCain supporter, who reminded McCain of the candidate's plea at the convention for his supporters to do everything possible to ensure a victory. The supporter said: "I doubt that anyone has taken, pardon me, the ass-whoopin' I have taken for doing that." He then implored McCain to go after Barack Obama at the next debate and asked him to raise ACORN and Reverend Wright. "I am begging you, sir," he said, as the crowd stood and applauded.

"Yes, I'll do that," McCain responded, before promising to offer "a positive plan for America's economy."

Better late than never, I always say. What's he got to lose, but an election?

Before Obama tossed crazy Uncle Jeremiah under the bus

The video referred to below of Obama giving a "shout-out" to his pastor, the not-very-Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is gone down the memory hole, so how about a "greatest hits" video? I ain't forgot and never will.

Obama gives a "shout-out" to Rev. Jeremiah Wright:

CHICAGO (CBS) — While Sen. Barack Obama moved quickly to distance himself from his controversial former pastor this weekend, the presidential candidate offered a "special shout out'' to Rev Jeremiah Wright just last summer.

Last June, Obama was speaking to black clergy at Hampton University. In the video on posted at the time on cbs2chicago.com, Obama lavished praise on Wright, talking glowingly how Wright ''puts up with me, counsels me.''

About one minute into the video, Obama refers to Wright as "as a friend and a great leader.''

Obama's comments appear to indicate a deeper, more personal relationship than the Illinois senator disclosed just days ago when he denounced Wright's inflammatory sermons from the pulpit at the Trinity United Church of Christ.

Obama & MSM playing the 'R' card threadbare?

CNN, believe it or not, has a video of Obama's bomb-throwing buddy Bill Ayers, developed working with National Review Online reporter Stanley Kurtz. Of course, it's racism to link Obama and Ayers.

Is the law of unintended consequences kicking in due to Obama and his enablers in the MSM playing their "R" card until it's threadbare?

Even Barney Frank is hollering "racism!" is behind revelations that he and his Democrat pals helped hatch the Fannie/Freddie meltdown. Last time I checked, Barney is fairly pale and most of the Democrats involved are, too, though there are a few not as pale as Barney.

I was shocked last night by something agreed upon by Fox News panel's pair of liberal twofers, Mora Liason and Juan Williams. They're twofers because they're not only the token liberals for the "fair and balanced" network, Mora fills the female slot and Juan the black slot.

Anyway, both agreed that McCain and Palin should be hammering Obama as much or more for the not-rev. Jeremiah Wright's outrageous anti-American rants as for "palling around" with bomb-throwing Bill Ayers of Chicago. They both reasoned that Bill's bomb-throwing days are in the distant past while Wright's "G-- D--- America!" shouts are still with us on youbute waiting to be replayed on the campaign trail.

Are Mora and Juan trying to set up McCain and Palin for the inevitable racism charges from the MSM if they bring up Wright, I wondered?

Or were they seriously honest? Has the racism card been played so often already in this campaign that its effectiveness had been lost? Why else would a black male liberal and a white female liberal, both NPR "experts," agree that connecting Wright to Obama is fair game?

Associated Press "Analysis"
writer Douglass Daniel sees a "racially tinged subtext" in Palin's criticism of Obama's pal, bomb-throwing Bill.

But The Wall Street Journal points out the absurdity of seeing racism in mention of Ayers and his wife, bomb-thrower Bernadine Dohrn.

...Mr. and Mrs. Ayers are persons of pallor. What could possibly be racist about Palin's criticizing Obama for associating with a couple of despicable characters who are white? This question brings us into the weird world of Douglass Daniel's imagination.

Thomas Lifson at American Thinker has also noticed an excess of "one size fits all" flinging of racism charges and he quotes Patterico.

Patterico deftly skewers the ridiculous claims of racism made when Obama is criticized:
  • It's racist to point out the connection between Barack Obama and a white man - who happens to be a terrorist.
  • It's racist to point out the connection between Barack Obama and a black man - who happens to have run Fannie Mae.
Even better, Patterico tells the McCain campaign to wise up, and stop being afraid of being the target of the r-claim. The vast majority of voters understand the tyranny of phony racism claims, and resent them. They may be too afraid to tell pollsters so, but they have seen this sort of nonsense for decades. It is now time for McCain to tell the truth and face down those who racialize ordinary politics.

Like the little boy who cried "Wolf" a few too many times too often, sooner or later the racism card had to wear out. Consider R-Card Exhibit No. 2: O.J. finally went to jail. The glove fit and this time the jury did not acquit. Maybe McCain will trot out Crazy Uncle Jerry.

And maybe, just maybe, there's a method to what some on the right have called McCain's madness for not bringing up Jeremiah Wright.

Charlie Martin at American Thinker asks
What if McCain knows what he's doing? Charlie sees a plan in Palin's "late" timing in targeting Ayers, and McCain finally hitting Obama and the Democrats involved in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Could Jeremiah Wright be next up to bat?

Meanwhile, the MSM "whitewash" of Ayers continues, as tonight's debate moderator Tom Brokaw calls modern Bill an "education reformer."

Sol Stern at The City Journal take a current look at what bomb-throwing Bill has been up to in recent times in his ivory tower of academia.

Calling Bill Ayers a school reformer is a bit like calling Joseph Stalin an agricultural reformer. (If you find the metaphor strained, consider that Walter Duranty, the infamous New York Times reporter covering the Soviet Union in the 1930s, did, in fact, depict Stalin as a great land reformer who created happy, productive collective farms.) For instance, at a November 2006 education forum in Caracas, Venezuela, with President Hugo Chávez at his side, Ayers proclaimed his support for “the profound educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chávez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. . . . I look forward to seeing how you continue to overcome the failings of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane.” Ayers concluded his speech by declaring that “Venezuela is poised to offer the world a new model of education—a humanizing and revolutionary model whose twin missions are enlightenment and liberation,” and then, as in days of old, raised his fist and chanted: “Viva Presidente Chávez! Viva la Revolucion Bolivariana! Hasta la Victoria Siempre!”

As I have shown in previous articles in City Journal, Ayers’s school reform agenda focuses almost exclusively on the idea of teaching for “social justice” in the classroom. This has nothing to do with the social-justice ideals of the Sermon on the Mount or Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Rather, Ayers and his education school comrades are explicit about the need to indoctrinate public school children with the belief that America is a racist, militarist country and that the capitalist system is inherently unfair and oppressive. As a leader of this growing “reform” movement, Ayers was recently elected vice president for curriculum of the American Education Research Association, the nation’s largest organization of ed school professors and researchers.

If Ayers-style indoctrination of our public-school children is what Obama has in mind when he says "reform," that's far worse than bombs.

And surprise, surprise, guess what Obama says about his campaign kickoff in Ayers' Chicago home? "This is not the Bill Ayers that I knew."

Thomas Sowell is definitely not a "person of pallor," but since he's that rare creature, a black conservative, he knows a lot about racism.

Sowell and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas are routinely called "Uncle Toms" by liberals, who are immune from racism charges.

Sowell blows away the "guilt by association" charges liberals and the MSM use to explain away the questionable characters around Obama.

Associations are very different from alliances. Allies are not just people who happen to be where you are or who happen to be doing the same things you do. You choose allies deliberately for a reason. The kind of allies you choose says something about you.

Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Pfleger, William Ayers and Antoin Rezko are not just people who happened to be at the same place at the same time as Barack Obama. They are people with whom he chose to ally himself for years, and with some of whom some serious money changed hands.

Some gave political support, and some gave financial support, to Obama's election campaigns, and Obama in turn contributed either his own money or the taxpayers' money to some of them. That is a familiar political alliance-- but an alliance is not just an "association" from being at the same place at the same time.

Obama could have allied himself with all sorts of other people. But, time and again, he allied himself with people who openly expressed their hatred of America. No amount of flags on his campaign platforms this election year can change that.

So let's do a head count. We got a "black liberation" preacher, a white Catholic priest, a white terrorist-turned-"reformer" and a convicted Syrian-Chicago slum lord waiting for sentencing. Racism loop ain't wide enough for that bunch. But they all share a hatred of America.

BTW, speaking of Rezko, federal prosecutors have put off his sentencing because he is reportedly singing like a bird. Obama partisans have been hinting darkly about an "October surprise." I'll bet this is not what they have in mind. Sing Tony sing, sing a sad song about Obama.

BTW 2, like an "I hate America" triple play, James Lewis of American Thinker connects the dots from Obama to Ayers to Jeremiah Wright.

And in slightly hopeful news, two overnight polls show Obama's once double-digit lead over McCain has shrunk to 3.
First CBS, now Zogby.

Bomb-Throwing Bill is 'Blowing in the Wind'

I still love the music of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and IMHO the best rock ‘n’ roll group evah, The Band. I couldn’t imagine back in the ‘60s that the day would ever come that I would look back on the revolution powered by “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll” as anything but a fun time by all.

But then life happened. I spent the last year of the decade aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer, slinging 5-inch shells of high explosive over on the beach in support of our guys in the jungle, fighting for each other as much or more as for mom, apple pie and America. It was a mighty confusing era, but though I certainly did more than my part partaking of the unholy trinity of wine, women and bongs, I was never anti-war.

I might know the words of Dylan’s lyric “you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows,” but William Ayers, Hanoi Jane and none of the rest of that bomb-throwing bunch of Weathermen anarchists were ever my heroes. But that’s all ancient history. Bad ol’ days gone.

So whatever happened to old bomb-throwing Bill Ayers? Couldn’t be the same guy who’s on the faculty of some ivy-tower campus in Chicago?

So what’s old wild Bill up to? Writing education standards to be taught to our kids? The Hell you say! Standing on Old Glory in a dirty alley to pose for a photo for his memoirs?! Old commies don’t die after all. They just turn respectable and live down the street from Presidential candidates.

Not that Barack Hussein Obama should feel any obligation toward the guy who got him his first big job organizing a community in Southside Chicago and blowing through $100 million of some goofy white guy’s grant money. Hey, just an old bomb-thrower tossing goodies to a friend.

But I guess by now ol’ wild Bill’s finally feeling some heat from the VRWC’s investigation into the Annenberg Challenge grant scam he and his buddy Barack pulled back in the ‘80s. So Bill finally steps out of the shadows and responds to the questions, sorta, kinda. How, you might ask?

Well of course, in a ‘60s kinda way. With a comic book. Seriously. In black and white, no less. Nothing says serious discussion like a B/W comic.

And the late-night comics claim they can’t find anything in the Obama campaign to joke about? Lordy, the whole blooming campaign is a joke.

How can anybody say a campaign ain’t funny that starts off with Crazy Ol’ Uncle Jeremiah and Bomb-Throwing Bill, moves on to the Heil Obama! World Tour, climaxes with Greek gods and fireworks in a football stadium and tapers off into painting lipstick on a pig? Now that there’s funny.

What’s not funny is the thought of Little Barry, Big Mama Michelle, Bomb-Throwing Bill and Crazy Uncle Jeremiah partying in the White House.

Waking up with an '08 hangover

After all the hoopla of last night's coronation of Obama I, Lord of the Universe, I think it's time for some adult analysis. As usual Charles Krauthammer brings us down to earth with Self-Made Man or Mysterious Stranger?

When John Kerry was introduced at his convention four years ago, an honor guard of a dozen mates from his Vietnam days surrounded him on the podium attesting to his character and readiness to lead. Such personal testimonials are the norm. The roster of fellow soldiers or fellow senators who could from personal experience vouch for John McCain is rather long. At a less partisan date in the calendar, that roster might even include Democrats Russ Feingold and Edward Kennedy, with whom John McCain has worked to fashion important legislation.

Eerily missing at the Democratic convention this year were people of stature who were seriously involved at some point in Obama's life standing up to say: I know Barack Obama. I've been with Barack Obama. We've toiled/endured together. You can trust him. I do.

When you compare your candidate to John Kerry and come up short, that's not a good sign.

So where are the colleagues? The buddies? The political or spiritual soul mates? His most important spiritual adviser and mentor was Jeremiah Wright. But he's out. Then there's William Ayers, with whom he served on a board. He's out. Where are the others?

The oddity of this convention is that its central figure is the ultimate self-made man, a dazzling mysterious Gatsby. The palpable apprehension is that the anointed is a stranger -- a deeply engaging, elegant, brilliant stranger with whom the Democrats had a torrid affair. Having slowly woken up, they see the ring and wonder who exactly they married last night.

The big party's over. God help us all if America wakes up with a hangover and a wedding band.

Jeremiah Wright in a Skirt

Confederate Yankee calls her Jeremiah Wright in a Skirt. Who is this female Black Liberation Theology preacher? She’s Leah Daughtry, chairwoman of the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Denver, also part-time pastor and full-time chief of staff for DNC Chairman Howard Dean. Just when Obama thought it was safe to go back in the water, “Crazy Uncle Jeremiah” is baaaaaaack! Or it his twin sister?

And she brought all the crazy relatives with her: “Uncle” Jeremiah, James Cone, Malcolm X, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, the whole gang’s here!
