'Fear and Loathing' anti-gun news from Obama's Press Corps

If you get your "news" from the so-called mainstream media (AKA Obama's Pet Press Corps) then you probably heard about the guy in New Hampshire who threatened Obama with a handgun at church and the white guy in Arizona who threatened him with an assault rifle.

Only problem with the reporting of those two "events" is the facts don't support the reporting. The guy with the handgun was nowhere near Obama and Obama didn't come to the man's church. And the man was wearing a handgun because Obama's union thugs had attacked him.

And the "white guy" in Arizona with the assault rifle? Actually he was black and the truth also not reported is the whole "event" was staged by a radio shock jock to get some cheap ratings.

The Washington Times takes a look at the facts vs. the so-called reporting in an editorial:

In Portsmouth, N.H., a man carrying a gun, William Kostric, joined an Aug. 11 health care protest. This was blocks away and hours before Mr. Obama's town-hall meeting in that city. Mr. Kostric was given permission to be on church property where the protest occurred and was not at the place the president visited. What most of the coverage left out was that Mr. Kostric didn't carry his gun only for the protest; he legally carries a gun with him all the time for protection.

While the media regularly used terms such as "hotheads" to mischaracterize the situation, the coverage ignored that union members who opposed the protest had attacked Mr. Kostric and a friend, kicking, pushing and spitting on them. Despite violence against him by Mr. Obama's supporters, Mr. Kostric did not draw his gun or threaten anyone.

On the CBS Evening News, Katie Couric asked, "Are we really still debating health care when a man brings a handgun to a church where the president is speaking?" Deliberately or not, she got the facts wrong. As we know, Mr. Kostric did bring a gun to the church, but the president was not there and never was scheduled to speak there. Mr. Obama spoke at a separate event at a local high school at a different time. Not letting facts get in the way of her hysterical story line, Ms. Couric linked Mr. Kostric's gun to "fear and frankly ignorance drown[ing] out the serious debate that needs to take place about an issue that affects the lives of millions of people."

In another case in Arizona, a black man staged an event with a local radio host and carried a semiautomatic rifle a few blocks away from another Obama town-hall meeting. According to the radio station, the staged event was "partially motivated to do so because of the controversy surrounding William Kostric." This occurrence was not an example of an outraged gun-toting Obama protester, but a stunt to garner attention for a shock jock. Of course, this inconvenient truth was ignored by most news outlets.

MSNBC misrepresented the facts to try to back up a bogus claim about racism being behind opposition to Mr. Obama's agenda. On Donny Deutsch's Aug. 18 show about the Arizona town-hall meeting, the producers aired a clip of the anonymous black man carrying the so-called assault rifle -- but the network edited the tape so the man's race was obscured. Truth be damned, MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer said, "There are questions whether this has a racial overtone. I mean, here you have a man of color in the presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists." Another commentator on the same show worried about the "anger about a black person being president." The supposed result: "You know we see these hate groups rising up."

If you must read a newspaper daily, I strongly suggest The Washington Times as one reliable source and of course Fox News as the only media outlet worth watching on TV.

Obama's instant economic stimulus plan is working

One of the leading Internet gun dealers where I shop reports:
...we have managed to stabilize our replacement cost on our best selling ARs and AKs. As reported on ABCs Nightline tonight, distributors nationwide raised prices as much as 200 percent on Wednesday.
How's that for an instant economic stimulus? Well, on second thought, the only economy getting stimulated is gun distributors who are price-gouging because they know their supply of assault rifles will soon be cut off by President Obama. It's called supply and demand. When supply goes down -- in this case to zero -- demand goes up and consequently the price goes up. So us gun buyers are the ones getting stimulated, but it ain't a good stimulus. More like a cattle prod.

But, you say, he's not even President yet, so why this sudden panic buying and price-gouging?

The NRA-ILA has the juicy details of President-Elect Obama's first "official" action.

Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign slogan, "the audacity of hope," should have instead been "the audacity of deceit." After months of telling the American people that he supports the Second Amendment, and only hours after being declared the president-elect, the Obama transition team website announced an agenda taken straight from the anti-gun lobby--four initiatives designed to ban guns and drive law-abiding firearm manufacturers and dealers out of business:

"Making the expired federal assault weapons ban permanent." Perhaps no other firearm issue has been more dishonestly portrayed by gun prohibitionists. Notwithstanding their predictions that the ban's expiration in 2004 would bring about the end of civilization, for the last four years the nation's murder rate has been lower than anytime since the mid-1960s. Studies for Congress, the Congressional Research Service, the National Institute of Justice, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found no evidence that gun prohibition or gun control reduces crime. Guns that were affected by the ban are used in only a tiny fraction of violent crime-about 35 times as many people are murdered without any sort of firearm (knives, bare hands, etc.), as with "assault weapons." Obama says that "assault weapons" are machine guns that "belong on foreign battlefields," but that is a lie; the guns are only semi-automatic, and they are not used by a military force anywhere on the planet.

"Repeal the Tiahrt Amendment." The amendment--endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police--prohibits the release of federal firearm tracing information to anyone other than a law enforcement agency conducting a bona fide criminal investigation. Anti-gun activists oppose the restriction, because it prevents them from obtaining tracing information and using it in frivolous lawsuits against law-abiding firearm manufacturers. Their lawsuits seek to obtain huge financial judgments against firearm manufacturers when a criminal uses a gun to inflict harm, even though the manufacturers have complied with all applicable laws.

"Closing the gun show loophole." There is no "loophole." Under federal law, a firearm dealer must conduct a background check on anyone to whom he sells a gun, regardless of where the sale takes place. A person who is not a dealer may sell a gun from his personal collection without conducting a check. Gun prohibitionists claim that many criminals obtain guns from gun shows, though the most recent federal survey of convicted felons put the figure at only 0.7 percent. They also claim that non-dealers should be required to conduct checks when selling guns at shows, but the legislation they support goes far beyond imposing that lone requirement. In fact, anti-gun members of Congress voted against that limited measure, holding out for a broader bill intended to drive shows out of business.

"Making guns in this country childproof." "Childproof" is a codeword for a variety of schemes designed to prevent the sale of firearms by imposing impossible or highly expensive design requirements, such as biometric shooter-identification systems. While no one opposes keeping children safe, the fact is that accidental firearm-related deaths among children have decreased 86 percent since 1975, even as the numbers of children and guns have risen dramatically. Today, the chances of a child being killed in a firearm accident are less than one in a million.
I got a post from the aptly named "anonymous" here on my blog just before election day, commenting on an Obama anti-gun post I made.
No, he's not 100% pro-gun, but he's not as bad as the NRA is making him out to be.
Really? Just how anti-gun can he be? We shall see indeed.

Young Undecideds Who Love Guns: Vote Your Glock

Doug Giles has a few words for the Young Undecideds Who Love Guns: Vote Your Glock:

Young gun owners and hunters. Yeah, you. If you vote for Obama then you will have crapped on your future second amendment rights and the sport you supposedly love.

Welcome to reality, young squab, may I take your coat?

Yep, Dufus, if Barack becomes dictator—I mean president—and you begin to see your right to bear arms erode like Bill Clinton’s conscience at Hooters and you commence to spot the sport of hunting disappearing like a massive bag of Cheetos in front of a rather peckish Rosie O’Donnell, I sure as heck don’t want to hear any of you Obama backing wussies whine about it. Why? Well, you asked for it, and now you got it. You’re the one who, in spite of sick evidence against Barack, decided to vote for the most anti-gun candidate in US history just because he’s “young, cool and can play basketball.”

For those undecided gun lovers who can read and still reason, here’s the reality of the Obama/Biden ticket when it comes to hunting and your right to lock and load.

Are you ready for some truth? You are? Are you sure? Okay then . . . sit down, let your head clear from that last hit of Obama propaganda ganja you just inhaled, turn off MSNBC, log off the DailyKos, put down the Audacity of Hope and give me, my young gun owning/hunting friend just two minutes of your attention and check out this list from gunbanobama.com . . .

If you think Doug is just blowing smoke, read the sad truth about Obama's anti-gun record.

Obama's plan to take away gun rights 'The Third Way'

Obama takes the NRA to court to stop their ads detailing his anti-gun record.

How do you tell when Obama's lying about his anti-gun record? Watch closely. It's when his lips move.

John Sigler of the National Rifle Association details Obama's Gun-Restriction Policy Playbook

“The problem that progressives have on the gun issue has far less to do with the typical policies they espouse than the rhetoric they employ.” - The Third Way

“It’s critical that progressives recognize that only an aggressive outreach strategy to gun owners will ensure that your opponent’s message about your gun record does not define your candidacy.” - The Third Way

Those two instructions to so-called “progressive” political candidates explain Barack Obama’s camouflage of lies and deceptions that hide his consistent history as an aggressive proponent of virtually every aspect of gun control -- from gun-owner licensing and universal firearms registration; to criminalizing private ownership of whole generic classes of now-lawful firearms; to what I call denial of civil liberty at local option.

The bait-and-switch gimmick of employing rhetorical tricks to hide very real gun control agendas, and to create a fraudulent history to assure that “your gun record does not define your candidacy” are the central lessons offered in a political/propaganda playbook or script proffered by something called the Third Way.

Titled, “Taking back the Second Amendment,” the script is built around a central public opinion finding: “Voters overwhelmingly support the Second Amendment and believe that it confers an individual’s right to own firearms” – a finding confirmed long ago by NRA’s own polling of American public opinion.

The Third Way’s propaganda manual is co-authored by Jim Kessler – who as then-U.S. Rep. Chuck Schumer’s policy director husbanded legislation that became the 1994 Clinton gun ban. This political playbook is a stark study in duplicity and is word-for-word the blueprint for both Barack Obama’s stunningly empty embrace of the Second Amendment, and of the media’s total participation in this intellectually dishonest campaign of deception and obfuscation.

“Don’t let your opponent define you by your record.”

In this case, Barack Obama’s opponent is the National Rifle Association and the millions of individual citizens we represent.

You can call a liberal "progressive" but he's still a gun-grabbing liberal. You can call BS manure, but it still stinks. You can spread BS very thin and call it fertilizer or "nuance" but it's still BS.

And you can spread the big lie that you're for gun rights. But don't listen to the lies. Look at Obama's anti-gun record. Never voted for guns, always voted against guns. Third Way BS.

Rosie and Kay will take your guns: Vote Elizabeth Dole

Rosie O'Donnell and Kay Hagan want to take your guns. Vote for Elizabeth Dole for U.S. Senate.

Stock up on firearms now for "President Barack Obama"

There's an old Bessie Smith blues line about a tough bar she sang in that had a sign inside the front door over the counter "Check All Your Razors And Your Guns." That's what President Barack Obama's anti-gun administration will be doing, so buy your firearms now and avoid the rush. Then you'll be ready when the thugs come calling, like this fine little filly in jolly old England.

Movie 'The Iron Giant' demonizes hunters and guns

We take you now to an anti-gun Hollywood BS alert from GunsAmerica.com.

I would just like to warn gun owners and especially hunters to NOT BUY a movie on the rack at Wal-Mart this week called "The Iron Giant" for your kids. It looks like a great movie and overall it actually is, but it demonizes deer hunters and guns in general. It is THE WORST I have seen to date. The focus on the gun and say "guns kill" over and over again. The whole point of the movie is that the robot doesn't want to be a gun.

If you don't want to be surprized by a movie you innocently bought for your kids, avoid it, really. They could have introduced the concept of death to the big robot any number of ways, but the Hollywood elitists chose to use deer hunters.

These hypocrite trained monkeys probably went to lunch at Arbys everyday to eat a cow that someone else killed for them, WITHOUT A GUN.

Blech blech blech why can't these idiots understand that America has real problems, and none of them have to do with hunters or guns.

We now return you to your regular blogging.

P.S. Vote for McCain-Palin and perhaps we'll have a little less of this anti-gun B.S. If you don't like guns, vote for Obama. BTW, if you don't like guns, why are you reading my blog?

Obama’s Anti-Gun Running Mate

Snowflakes in Hell has the rundown on Obama's VP pick, Joe Biden, anti-guns. Watch the video of Biden's anti-gun rant in the Presidential debate: Obama’s Anti-Gun Running Mate
  1. He takes pride in writing gun bans.
  2. He’s F-rated with NRA - the worst among almost all of the most talked about candidates.
  3. NRA highlights his recent threats to gun owners via his work on his Senate committee:
NRA has been tracking the U.N.`s gun-ban activities for well over a decade, and thanks to the Bush administration`s appointees to the U.N., the U.S. position on any global gun-ban treaty has been consistent and uncompromising: Hands off the Second Amendment rights of American citizens! However, all that could change, now that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee–which approves or rejects our U.N. representatives and assesses international treaties for possible ratification–is chaired by anti-gun U.S. Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware.
Like Schumer, Biden is rated “F” by the NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) for his countless votes against firearm freedom. Like Schumer, Biden voted to expose the lawful firearm industry to crippling lawsuits; to extend and expand the Clinton gun bans; to allow a ban on most hunting-rifle ammunition; and to deny the free-speech rights of groups like the NRA during elections.
Now, as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Biden can use his power to sabotage pro-freedom nominees for U.N. ambassador–as he did with Second Amendment defender John Bolton–and bully fellow senators into accepting whatever gun-ban treaty the U.N. concocts in the name of fighting international terrorism.
  4. Needless to say, he didn’t sign on to the Heller brief and doesn’t support efforts to reform DC’s gun laws.
Biden is bad news all around for any gun owner. Pair him with Obama, and it’s a far left gun ban ticket.
