Evidence of Obama's Changing Position on Tax Cuts: $50K in 2003

CBS-4 has posted a 2003 TV interview where Barack Obama says tax cuts should only go to “working families … that are making 50, 60, 70 thousand dollars a year”. This comes on the heels of Bill Richardson saying Obama’s tax relief would define middle class as “$120,000 and under” -- and just days after Joe Biden defined “middle class” as $150,000. Remember, Obama’s original promise was not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.

So, $50K for an Obama tax hike. We're almost down to the $42K level which will hit us when Obama follows through on his promise to repeal the Bush tax cuts. I predict if voters put Obama in office, before long they'll be talking about the "good ol' days under President George W. Bush."

Those two instructions to so-called “progressive” political candidates explain Barack Obama’s camouflage of lies and deceptions that hide his consistent history as an aggressive proponent of virtually every aspect of gun control -- from gun-owner licensing and universal firearms registration; to criminalizing private ownership of whole generic classes of now-lawful firearms; to what I call denial of civil liberty at local option.

The bait-and-switch gimmick of employing rhetorical tricks to hide very real gun control agendas, and to create a fraudulent history to assure that “your gun record does not define your candidacy” are the central lessons offered in a political/propaganda playbook or script proffered by something called the Third Way.

Titled, “Taking back the Second Amendment,” the script is built around a central public opinion finding: “Voters overwhelmingly support the Second Amendment and believe that it confers an individual’s right to own firearms” – a finding confirmed long ago by NRA’s own polling of American public opinion.

The Third Way’s propaganda manual is co-authored by Jim Kessler – who as then-U.S. Rep. Chuck Schumer’s policy director husbanded legislation that became the 1994 Clinton gun ban. This political playbook is a stark study in duplicity and is word-for-word the blueprint for both Barack Obama’s stunningly empty embrace of the Second Amendment, and of the media’s total participation in this intellectually dishonest campaign of deception and obfuscation.

“Don’t let your opponent define you by your record.”

In this case, Barack Obama’s opponent is the National Rifle Association and the millions of individual citizens we represent.

You can call a liberal "progressive" but he's still a gun-grabbing liberal. You can call BS manure, but it still stinks. You can spread BS very thin and call it fertilizer or "nuance" but it's still BS.

And you can spread the big lie that you're for gun rights. But don't listen to the lies. Look at Obama's anti-gun record. Never voted for guns, always voted against guns. Third Way BS.

Zogby Saturday poll puts McCain in lead over Obama

The Saturday Zogby daily tracking poll has been released and John McCain has taken a 1-point LEAD over Barack Obama on the final night of the poll's three-day run. McCain led Obama 48% to 47%.

Tyrrell and Krauthammer endorse John McCain for President

Emmett Tyrrell has joined Charles Krauthammer in endorsing John McCain for President.

Though I cannot recall ever endorsing a presidential candidate I am going to do so in this column. In this, I am following the lead of the dean of conservative columnists, the excellent Charles Krauthammer. Last week he endorsed Sen. John McCain. Count me for McCain, too.

I read a lot of conservative writers, but Tyrrell and Krauthammer sit on top of the heap. Neither is in the habit of endorsing candidates and neither may have ever done it before. The Ant and the Grasshopper: An Obama rewrite

CLASSIC VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself

Obama's MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Barack Obama exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug-related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2008.

Bill Richardson Lowers Obama's Tax-Hike Ceiling to $120K!

First Obama told Joe the Plumber unless he made $250,000 or more, he wouldn't have to worry about a tax hike in his plan to "tax the rich 5 percent" and give the other 95% a tax cut. Never mind that 40 % don't pay any income taxes to start with. Obama don't do math, he does politics. Then the "rich" threshold magically dropped to $200,000 in an Obama campaign ad. Then Joe Biden drops it to $150,000. Now Obama campaigner Bill Richardson drops it again to $120,000.

But let us not forget that Obama also promises to repeal the Bush tax cuts, which means you'll be getting a massive tax hike if you make as little as $42,000. That's change you can believe in. Spare change to rattle in your pocket after Obama takes all your folding green for his Socialist programs.

How low can Obama go? Low enough to raise your taxes

RNC ad asks, how low does Obama's standard of "rich" go when he's planning tax increases? They shoulda reminded voters that his tax-hike threshold goes way on below $150,000, his campaign's latest definition of "rich." Obama has made it a campaign motto that repealing the "Bush tax cuts" will be numero-uno priority. That means if you make more than $42K, your taxes will go up.

Change you can believe in, especially when you see the tax withholding on your paycheck under "President Barack Obama." I don't know about you, but that title ain't no thrill up my leg. That's a cold chill running up my back and all over. Lord, deliver us from "President Barack Obama!"

Atlanta school kids do Presidential politics music video

A group of kids at a private school in Atlanta, mostly black, have a musical video that's getting a lot of play on youtube and CNN does an interview with them. But surprise, surprise, the shortest and I guess youngest black kid says he's a John McCain supporter, the only one in the bunch. Has a new Joe the Plumber stepped into the limelight? Stranger things have already happened lately. Plus one of the girls in the group says she likes Sarah Palin. Maybe there's hope for the future.
